Common questions

Before
you start.

Can’t find what you need? Email the team and we’ll help.

What is Aekant?

Aekant is a desktop browser built on a customised Gecko foundation, not Chromium. It uses containers to keep different online activities in separate contexts.

Does Aekant block ads and trackers?

Yes. Ad and tracker blocking is built in and on by default — no extension needed. You can add your own custom filter rules, allow a site you trust, and see how many requests were blocked in the toolbar.

What does “a new fingerprint on every page” mean?

Sites can identify a device from details such as screen size, fonts and graphics, even without cookies. Aekant changes those details on every page load and navigation, so visits can’t be linked together by fingerprint. Pages keep working normally.

How do containers work?

Each container can keep its own tabs, cookies, site data, logins, search choice, visual identity, and optional saved tunnel connection.

What can a saved tunnel do?

A saved tunnel can be assigned to a container so new requests in that context follow the selected route. Aekant keeps the choice visible in the browser interface.

Which desktop systems are supported?

Aekant is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux on ARM64 and x64 hardware. The download page recommends a build for your system and lets you choose another one.

Which Linux package should I choose?

Choose DEB for Debian, Ubuntu, and compatible distributions. Choose RPM for Fedora, RHEL, openSUSE, and compatible distributions.

How do I choose the right download?

The Download page recommends a build for your current desktop. You can also select another operating system and architecture when you need a different installer.

Is Aekant free?

The public desktop release is available to download. Use the contact form for organization deployment and partnership discussions.

What data stays separate in a container?

Container boundaries apply to browser data such as sessions, cookies, site storage, saved logins, tabs, search preference, visual identity, and optional tunnel selection.

How do I report a security issue?

Use the private vulnerability report form at aekant.com/security/report. Reports go to a restricted queue for the security team. Do not include credentials in an ordinary support request.

How do I send product feedback?

Open the Aekant menu and choose Send feedback to share an issue, suggestion, or idea with the team.
